Sharon and Kevin went to Colorado early in the morning, because Kevin has a business meeting there; I will be alone with the kids until Sunday.
The kids had a great day at the O’Connors’ pool again where we were invited. Since it was still so hot (seemed like a never ending heat wave), you couldn’t do anything, but jump into the water or stay in the air-conditioned house. It was the first time that all kids (the O’Shaughnessys and O’Connors) were together at the pool (except Brady, the baby, who was sleeping). It was good that we were 3 adults (Elis, Kathleen and me) watching the 5 kids, so 1 or 2 of us could always relax in the sun : ) Conor, Riley and Finn had so much fun that they almost didn’t want to leave the pool.
In the afternoon, I was thinking of taking them to Six Flag’s safari park, but since I also had to do a lot of laundry and some other things, I decided to do the housework. Usually the kids have simple meals like chicken nuggets, pizza, quesadillas, etc., but this time I decided to cook something for them (which is not so easy since they can be a bit picky when it comes to eating) -- I cooked some chicken, mashed potatoes and “letscho” and Conor and Riley really liked it. They even told me that it was “the best dinner ever”. Later they came to the conclusion that it was not really the best one, since their mom and dad were not here. However, they told me if their parents had been here, it would have been “the best dinner ever”. So I promised them to cook mashed potatoes again when Sharon and Kevin are back from Colorado.
Once the kids were asleep, I was busy folding piles of clothes.
Oh yeah, and I didn't have to drive Conor to his football practice (which would have been from 6 to 8), since it was canceled because of the heat.
