At the safari park
Today (Thursday) I went to “Six Flags” or “Great Adventure” (a huge amusement park where there is a theme park, a water park and a safari park) about 45 minutes from here with the kids. Actually, we just have the season passes for the theme park and the safari park (the kids are still a bit too young for the water park, except for Conor who would love to go there soon), but I think the theme park and safari park are also enough. (If we had the passes for the water park as well, it would be just more exhausting for me, as I’m sure you can imagine… with 3 little boys…). When we arrived at “Six Flags“, there were so many people, so that I just hoped that I wouldn’t lose the kids, but everything worked out quite well. They had all a lot of fun -- just Finn was a bit sad once, since he also wanted to go on one particular ride, but he was too little, so he had to stay with me and watch his older brothers having all the fun. But as soon as I said that we would go to the safari park as well, his face lit up again. As you can imagine, the amusement park is always a bit exhausting with 3 little boys, since you have to look after all of them and one always wants to go on another ride as the other one, so you have to be a good “negotiator”, so that no quarrels arise. The safari park, on the other hand, is just relaxing, I could say, since you just sit in the car and drive through the park and the kids have fun looking at all those animals. Just Conor got a bit bored… he is already “a big boy” and doesn’t want to do that kiddie stuff anymore. However, Riley and Finn enjoyed seeing all the different animals a lot and had a good time, as I did too. I tried to leave “Great Adventure” early enough, so that I didn’t get into rush-hour at 5 and we did in fact quite well. Riley and Finn took a nap in the car, so they were not tired at all when we came back and were ready to play again ; )
After dinner I thought that it was time for me to go jogging. (Actually, Kevin had motivated me, since he had also gone for a jog earlier before.) I have to admit that I tend to eat a bit unhealthy stuff here, so I always have a bad conscience and think that I need to do something to keep my body in shape. Last year I joined the gym and once I had got used to it, I went there every day. It’s good that they have nannies for the kids there, so I could always take the kids with me. But I always tried not to stay longer than an hour, since Conor and Riley often got a bit bored after 1 hour and Finn was also always happy when he saw me again and wouldn‘t let go of me. I’m thinking of going to the gym tomorrow again, maybe together with Sharon. The people at the gym still owe me some money, since they didn’t stop writing off money from my account once I had gone back to Austria last year. Although I wrote them many emails and Sharon even went to them personally, I never saw the money. So I really hope that they’ll reimburse me tomorrow, if I go there.
Oh yeah, what I also wanted to say, when I was at “Six Flags” today, one woman told me how cute Finn is and that they’d grow so much… bla bla bla I’m sure she thought that I was his mom : ) Last summer I met so many people who told me what a cute baby I had and that he resembled me so much (words I have often heard: “He is so cute!… How old is he?… same blue eyes and same blond hair as mommy…”) I don’t mind hearing those words, since Finn is in fact one of the cutest and most adorable children I have ever met -- always smiling and laughing and being as cute as he can. (Riley used to say to him: “Finn, you are the cutest baby on the whole wide world!“) Riley and Conor are also adorable, and I enjoy spending the time with these kids so much.
